Revolutionary! Nessa Voss recently participated in the 13th annual Lighthearted Philosopher’s Society Conference on the Philosophy of Humor. She commented on a paper concerning the concept of self-deprecatory humor, while also making some jokes of her own to the audience. She engaged in a long debate about the conflicting nature of the love of offensive humor with her colleagues, as well as showing the out-of-state visitors that Texas does have delicious vegan food walking distance from the Alamo.
Parish Conkling and Jeanette Joy Harris were interviewed by Francois Pointeau, host of “Radar Talk Intimate” podcast. They discussed their upcoming 2020 conference, Revolution! Scholars and Artists Rethinking Political Action and the ways in which philosophy and art can work together to reconfigure political space.
